As a new player probably the best and first strategy is learn how to hit the ball low and hard on the front wall. To do this you must learn how to hit the ball from a low position. That is, about knee high as you bend at the knees and not waist. And to do this you must have good foot work to be able to move yourself into a position so the ball will drop into that knee high hitting position before you hit it. When hitting the ball from this position as level (flat) a swing as possible to hit the ball hard and straight into the front wall. Once you master the foot work and the knowledge of predicting where the ball will be to more easily get into the proper spot, you can start to work the ball in different directions and begin to use real strategy where you can drive it down the line or cross court to pass your opponent.
GOOD LUCK!
